Renegade Latino

So last week I went with a Chicano Rapper artist. This week I thought I would follow up with a video that included Lil’ Rob in all his chicano-ness, along with other kinds of linguistics. This video includes Pitbull, Voltio and Lil Rob. Pitbull is a native English speaker who also speaks Español. He was bron in the U.S.A., in Miami. So I’m sure he grew up speaking English in his public life while speaking Español in his private life, much like I did. Then there’s Voltio, who is a Puerto Rican born musician whose first language, and most commonly used language, is Español and who uses English as a distant second. Then of course there’s Lil Rob who speaks the English, even in his verse of this song. So there’s a native English speaker who speaks Español, a native Español speaker who speaks English and a Chicano speaker.
