Renegade Latino

Bueno, another year has come and gone. 2006 vino y se fue. But now we have 2007. It’s another shot, another chance to do what we haven’t done as of yet. Just about everyone has that resolution action going on and so do I. I’m graduating soon and as such I’ve reflected on many things. As kids we’d all imagine what we’d be when we grew up. We had visions of flying into space or rescuing people from a fire or, in my case, driving to my company’s office building in a rolls royce wearing a custom tailored suit. So now that I’m graduating I have to make that crucial first step.

Now I am not completely sure as to what that first step is going to be, I realize I have about six months before my day of graduation on June 10th and so I’d like to decide who I am when that day comes. It is quite an important day for me and I am going to control as much of it as possible. To be honest, I could have graduated sooner, maybe even by now I could be done. But I graduate only once and so it is going to be how I want it to be. I decided to wait until June 10th so that I can sit among the thousand of fellow tOSU graduates. I want to be hot and sitting for hours and listen to some speaker and all that.

This is (hopefully) how I’m going be when I get my degree and turn to face the rest of my life.

01. fitter This is, of course, in no way original but still. I dont plan on being fit my whole life, but I want to have to have it at least one more time before it’s over.

02. richer At this point in my life I have hit a financial low. All my income streams have come to a screeching halt and the holiday season has left me with very little resources. I know I have plenty of opportunity in which to make some money, so if I don’t I will have wasted my time and let myself down.

03. wiser I still have two quarters left at tOSU and with the ability to take courses that aren’t required I can expand my horizons. I hope to learn about things that I may not have covered thus far in my academic career. If I’m going to tOSU and paying them for it, I might as well learn a little something that I don’t already know.

04. stronger It’s not easy to do what one has to do. With work to do, sitting in front of the tv looks pretty good. When there’s a movie on and an exam tomorrow it’s easy to stay up all night not studying. It takes strength to do the right thing, to do the responsible thing. To make it after June 10th I am going to need that strength.

In general I believe that 2007 is going to play a large part in shaping the rest of my life. I believe that many will come after I recieve my degree. Since I was born, my life has been planned all the way up to June 10, 2006. After that day I am on my own and winging it. So hopefully when that day comes I will be fitter, richer, wiser, stronger and ready for what may come.
