RenegadeLatino featured on CSS Mania and Smashing Magazine

Smashing Magazine

Well this is awesome. I was recently thinking of changing my site’s design and I figured before I did I would submit it to some CSS showcase sites to see if I got lucky. Well I most certainly did as CSS Mania decided to showcase my site. As if that wasn’t exciting enough I also found that my site was featured in an article in Smashing Magazine. I checked trusty Google Analytics and I received over 1,000 hits in one day. That may not seem like a lot to some sites but to me it’s a-whole-nother level. I made it into SM’s “Showcase of tiles and patterns in modern web design”. So you think “The content should probably be larger”? Indeed perhaps it should.

So I’ve gotten traffic in one way or another from

I might just ride this theme out a little while longer.

UEFA Euro Cup All About the Counter Attack

Written on the 13th of June in the year 2008

It seems that most teams in the Euro Cup are scoring their goals off of counter attacks. This is a little different than what I’ve been used to seeing where the dominant team wears the other team down and gets their goals and a W. I think this isn’t just a random occurrence, I would say this is very much done on purpose. We look at what Greece had done in the last Euro Cup to win it all and they very much got by on a strategy where their defense kept the other team from scoring and on a counter attack they would get their goal and take the victory on a 1-0.

My favorite counter attack goal has to be Wesley Sneijder’s goal. The entire play was gorgeous and the finish was excellent. He really had to thread a needle to get that ball in there, and do it under pressure. The entire play, starting from the save off the line from the Italian corner, was executed perfectly. I was a little worried when the ball was crossed into the Italian box buy viagra super active as I didn’t see the forward on screen and thought the ball had been well overplayed. But then the header came from the side and Sneijder did well to get the ball in the back of the net. I just wish it hadn’t been against the Italians.

In the end this kind of soccer seems to be more suspenseful for me. I never know when to expect a goal, such as when Turkey got one in the least minutes against the Swiss hosts. Gotta keep watching to the end. We’ll see if the Italians can show us some better soccer tomorrow.

P.S. Anyone know where to get non-copyrighted images of the Euro Cup?
